If this silicone breast implants ruptured or damaged, as reported by MayoClinic, will leak silicone gel which can cause inflammation.
Signs or symptoms that occur when silicone breast implants rupture is:
1. Pain, burning, tingling, swelling, numbness or redness of the silicone breast implant rupture.
2. A lump or something hard around the implant or the armpit.
3. Changes in shape or size of the breast.
4. The breasts become more tender or experienced a hardening.
Condition of a ruptured silicone breast implants can be known through a screening mammogram, ultrasound, CT scan or MRI of the breast.
If silicon is already broken or damaged, then the treatment performed, including surgical removal of the implant and scar tissue. But if the condition of the breast has been severely damaged, there is a chance the doctor will perform the surgical removal of the breast.
The thing to note is that silicone breast implants can not be guaranteed for life safety, so necessary monitoring and routine breast screening if it is over 3 years.
