Hattiesburg, hypersexual considered a sexual perversion characterized by a high desire for sexual intercourse. Soon these sexual deviations would fall into the category of mental disorders.
Quite a few people who have unrealistic expectations, not least the world-known figures such as Tiger Woods, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bill Clinton. Sexual deviation is potentially destroy the family, career and social status.
"Every year, thousands of men and women from all walks of life seek psychiatric help for sexual behavior disorders," said the doctor who gathered last week at the annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), as reported by the LATimes, Tuesday (24/5/2011 ).
Increasing number of people who have sexual behavior problems has prompted psychiatrists to consider making a new kind of mental disorder, namely hypersexual disorder characterized by excessive and risky sexual behavior.
Hypersexual disorder is being considered for inclusion in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) which referred to the next edition of DSM-5, which will be launched in 2013.
According to the researchers at the APA meeting, the study shows the similarity of childhood experiences of sex addicts. Most of them have some kind of mental, physical or sexual abuse during childhood.
Other studies have shown that people who have unrealistic expectations often do not have a close relationship with other people early in life.
According to a study presented by Swedish researchers, 92 percent of men with hypersexual disorders had at least mild depressive symptoms. Both men and women with unrealistic expectations, having a low level of welfare compared with people without hypersexual disorder.
Women with hypersexual disorders are reported to be more emotional and depressed compared with male patients.
"Attention to this problem to grow and come in a timely manner. The availability of pornography on the internet can create a person with impaired sexual behavior. I see now that many patients in the age of 20 years who started doing Internet sexual behavior since the fifth grade," explains Patrick Carnes, executive director of the Gentle Path, a program for sex addicts at Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services, Hattiesburg.
According to Carnes, exposure to pornography or sexual activity at a young age can make the brain create the need for excessive sexual stimulation later in life.
"Research shows that early exposure to the substance (at a young age) may increase the risk of later addiction. The same is true for sex addiction," said Carnes.
