Give one fatal Baby Eating

JAKARTA - Giving the wrong foods in infants and toddlers can become one of the causes of death. Therefore, mothers are encouraged to always be careful when giving food to their babies.

"Therefore, proper feeding practices in infants and toddlers can play a role in reducing child mortality," said Consultant Child Nutrition Department of Medicine Faculty of medicine-RSCM Damayanti R Sjarif in Jakarta, Tuesday (02/21/2012) after delivering the material in IHC cadre training program for the cooperation of the ICBP SUN Division of Nutrition and Food Specials, and Tim Pediatric Indonesia Jakarta PKK.

Damayanti explains most of the causes of infant mortality is related to malnutrition or poor nutrition due to feeding practices that are not true in infancy.

He gave the example of infant feeding practices that contribute to infant mortality related to malnutrition, one of which is exclusive breastfeeding for less than four months.

In addition, the provision of complementary foods too early or too late, and complementary foods that do not meet nutritional needs in quality and quantity as well as unhygienic.

Therefore, he recommends feeding them right through early initiation of breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding for six months and complementary feeding. (Source: Sehatnews.com)
