Jakarta, Though achieved through sexual intercourse, orgasm also has a mystical effect on the brain as happens in meditation and death. According to the study, all three of these activities are equally able to stop the activity in certain parts of the brain.

According to an article published in the journal Scientific American, orgasm in both men and women can cause loss of consciousness for several minutes. The same effect is also experienced when doing meditation with full concentration.

At the time the brain loses consciousness for a moment, the body undergoes a change of perception that can not respond to stimuli from the environment. In accordance with this theory, several studies have shown that the sensitivity to pain is reduced when it is an orgasm.

Author of the article, Nadia Webb said neural network in some parts of the brain stops for a moment when you're meditating or having an orgasm. In a few minutes or seconds, someone can come out of the ego and feel the other side of him.

In relation to the cessation of brain activity in certain parts of both orgasm and meditation also have similarities with the process of death. The difference is, on the death of the cessation of brain activity occurs in all parts and lasts for eternity.

Based on the similarity of that, orgasm in French is also known as 'la petite mort' aka small death. That is more or less describes the moment of orgasm, partial brain death as the loss of consciousness for a moment.

"Although it is achieved through sexual intercourse, orgasm does not always give sexual meaning. When the meditation, the brain can sense the same experience with orgasm," said Rajneesh, an instructor and teacher of spiritual meditation in India, as quoted from Huffingtonpost, Wednesday (20/7/2011 ).
