JAKARTA - Adequate nutrition nutritional value is one important requirement that must be met during pregnancy. But in some pregnancies, nausea or vomiting is a condition that can not be avoided.
Nausea may occur because of increased estrogen, immunologic reaction and psychological factors in pregnant women will result in fetal and maternal malnutrition if not handled properly.
It is therefore important to be an effort that pregnant women who have nausea problems can still consume the necessary nutrients, one of which is to provide products with good flavors and liked the pregnant women rather than taking drugs.
"The sense of nausea in pregnant women can occur in the early trimester of pregnancy is 0 to 12 weeks. Several hormones that increase as Estrogen, Progesterone, and HCG blamed the cause of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. From these theories, progesterone has been blamed as the main cause, progesterone serves to maintain pregnancy, and progesterone causes relaxation of smooth muscle, stomach and intestines.
"Not all pregnant women experience nausea, some do not feel anything during pregnancy, there is also a feeling of nausea and some have felt very nauseous and vomiting all the time and require treatment (hyperemesis gravidarum)," he continued.
Circumstances that have excessive nausea can lead to lack of nutrition into the body of the mother that can affect the development of the fetus.
Hyperemesis gravidarum will interfere with daily activities, cause discomfort and fatigue, and in serious condition, can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
"Providing nutrition with a taste like pregnant women may be one solution to overcome this condition," added Prima.
