Jakarta, The menstrual cycle is not only related to the mood or the mood of a woman. When entering the fertile period, women are more able to distinguish a man's sexual orientation, whether gay or heterosexual just by looking at his face.
Experts believe this trend is associated with the instincts of a woman to choose a mate who could give her offspring. Gay or homosexual men who have no interest in women's lesser chances of giving descent.
In a study at the University of Toronto, the experts observed menstrual cycle 40 women heterosexual (not lesbian or bisexual). To see the sensitivity that the respondents' sexual orientation of men, researchers used 80 male face images.
The analysis showed, guesses the respondents who are in a fertile period when matched with the most accurate data about the sexual orientation of men in the photo. Sensitivity is further reduced when the women more distant from the fertile period.
Interestingly, the sensitivity to distinguish oprientasi not apply to distinguish sex with women lesbian bisexual or heterosexual. The exception is what makes the experts conclude, this ability is related to the instinct to choose a mate.
"The level of sensitivity in detecting the orientation of the male sex change to follow the cycle of fertility. This suggests a link with an arranged marriage," said Prof. Nicholas Rule, who led the study, as quoted by the Telegraph, Friday (24/06/2011).
Among gay men, the sensitivity to distinguish between the fellow gays by heterosexual men known as 'gaydar' or gay radar. Many believe, the most accurately identify a gay person is gay who both have a 'gaydar'.
