New York, Hopes for the discovery of an HIV vaccine began to get a bright spot. Recently, these researchers found two types of natural antibodies in the human body is capable of neutralizing 90 percent of HIV viral strains.

Quoted by Reuters on Friday (9/7/2010), both types of antibodies called VRC01 and VRC02 was found in the blood of HIV positive. In the group of patients who called the non-progressor, HIV infection does not cause disease because of certain immune system.

Researchers uncover, two types of antibodies that are found are factors that trigger the formation of the immune system in a non-progressor. Through a molecular device, the researchers succeeded in studying the immune system called 'cell-B' is.

With the study, researchers hope to develop a vaccine to overcome HIV infection. Another possibility is to make the drug could be developed to trigger the production of such antibodies in patients infected through transfusions or donate.

"This time I am very optimistic about HIV vaccines, and perhaps more confident than the last 10 years," said Dr. Gary Nabel of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), who led the research.

HIV is the cause of AIDS has infected 33 million people worldwide. According to UNAIDS data, 25 million people have died from AIDS since the pandemic began in 1980.

To date, HIV vaccine has not been found although some medications can help control it. Late in 2009, experts had tested the vaccine which is claimed to reduce the rate of HIV infection by 30 percent in the number of volunteers in Thailand, but the testing methods are still controversial.

Developing a vaccine for the HIV virus is not an easy task. In addition to directly attack the immune system, the virus has also always been mutated so that similar targets are always moving.
